Jammu, Mar 28 (KNO): PDP legislator Waheed Ur Rehman Parra on Saturday said that former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has not been provided a house despite repeated requests.
Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Para said that Mehbooba Mufti lives on a militant track after being evicted from her residence.
“I have a grievance with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. He has been a former CM and has seen tough times. When August 5, 2019 happened, former CMs were evicted from their houses. Mehbooba Ji is a former female CM. When we talk about threat, she lives on a militant track today. She was dragged out of her house. She doesn’t have a house. We went to him umpteen times, saying that a secured house is her entitlement. This government has not provided that till now,” she said.
Para alleged that denial of security to a former CM amounts to an attempt on her life.
He urged the House to take a tough stand on the security of MLAs.
“Security is an insurance in Jammu & Kashmir. Yesterday Tariq Karra’s security was withdrawn. Our escorts were withdrawn. There should be consensus that the House must take a tough stand on the issue. There should be no politicisation of it,” he said.
Para added that 90 MLAs of Jammu & Kashmir are fighting India’s war in Kashmir.
“We are the people who are fighting India’s war in Kashmir - the same war that seven lakh soldiers are fighting,” he said—(KNO)
